Abstract320)   HTML39)    PDF (1234KB)(341)

The internet of intelligent missiles (IOIM) is the local internet of things (IoT) on the battlefield, including but not limited to the interconnection between missiles and between missiles and launching platforms. It consists of the awareness layer, communication layer, information layer, calculation and decision making layer, and firepower layer. Integrating sensing, communication and information processing, distributed storage and edge computing, firepower strikes, IOIM enjoys the “multi-eyes, multi-brains, and multi-hands” ability, collaborative edge-computing and decision-making ability, and swarm intelligence emergence conditions. Hence, it can implement a network-based multi-layer closed-loop strike pattern, deal with fast and dynamic local battlefield operations, and improve the comprehensive operational performance of missile swarms. This paper presents the concept, features, typical applications, and key fundamental problems of IOIM and puts forward some suggestions on the development of IOIM.
